You can rest assured that the BIIAB AJLL covers everything you need to know to pass the examination and apply for a licence. What's more, it's been developed and rigorously piloted with experts from the industry to make sure it truly meets tne needs of those that want to succeed.
The syllabus for the BIIAB AJLL enables candidates to understand the law in relation to:
- The Licensing (Jersey) Law 1974.
- Categories of licence issued under the law.
- The licensee application process, including the various roles played in the process.
- The law in relation to the sale and consumption of intoxicating liquor.
- Conduct on licensed premises.
- Enforcement of the law and the penalties for those premises and people who do not comply.
Training for the BIIAB AJLL can be finished in half a day and offered by BIIAB approved training centres. The training is usually followed on the same day by a short multiple-choice exam with 20 questions. Courses for the BIIAB AJLL are run throughout Jersey, the cost of the course is set by each approved centre.
