Summary

A group of nine motorbike riders organised by the BII raced up the motorway last Friday 23rd July to raise funds for LVS Hassocks, a school for pupils with Aspergers’ and Autism, run by the Licensed Trade Charity.

The fun idea was created by Neil Robertson, and started with a tutored American Whiskey tasting on Thursday evening, hosted by Nick Griffin FBII at The Great Eastern, 103 Trafalgar Street, Brighton, and involved a 60 mile ride from LVS Hassocks school in Sayers Common, up to the charity’s other school in Ascot on Friday.  Both schools support children of parents who work in the licensed drinks trade.

The school, formerly a nun’s priory, has been converted to a school and needs further adaptation.  The circa £2,500+ raised will be used to help develop a bespoke training kitchen, where pupils can gain real skills for potential employment in the hospitality industry.

Neil Robertson, Chief Executive of BII said “we were very pleased with the generosity shown by the riders and their sponsors for such a great school and it was a fantastic way to raise the money”.

Tilda Lawrence, a student at the school said “"I liked it a lot. I really like the motorbikes, although one of them was very loud!"
