2011 BII Annual Lunch

The 2011 BII Annual Lunch, the industry's must attend networking event, held on 10th May 2011 at The Grosvenor House Park Lane, was once again a huge hit with attendees.


Generously sponsored by Britvic Soft Drinks the Lunch this year focused on innovation, entrepreneurialism and excellence. Neil Robertson CBII, Chief Executive reflected on the past 30 years of BII and looked forward to the next 30 years in his Annual Lunch speech.

Neil stressed the importance of the licensed retail industry raising its standards by setting out a clear and proactive role for BII in supporting future change through supporting, training and encouraging licensees.

BII were delighted to announce the winner of the prestigious 2011 BII Licensee’s of the Year – Darran Lingley MBII, Five Bells, Colchester

Luke Johnson, Chairman of Risk Capital Partners and The Royal Society of Arts and Chairman and part owner of Giraffe, Patisserie Valerie, Druckers and Baker and Spice gave an insight into his 30 years in the hospitality trade and offered tips to all in the trade.


Guests were treated to a sumptuous three-course lunch, served with a selection of fine wines. During reception, guests had the opportunity to enjoy, London Pride, Budweiser Budvar original and dark, champagne provided by Bookers and a selection of soft drinks from Britvic including new flavours of J20’s.


One of the most prestigious events of the licensed retail calendar, the BII Annual Lunch offered attendees a fantastic opportunity to network with friends, colleagues and key industry influencers; but was as always also a very enjoyable day out.


The annual raffle hosted by BII for the Licensed Trade Charity also raised £6650.00 for their important work.
