Centres Seeking Approval
We're delighted you're considering applying for BIIAB centre approval. With more than 24 years of experience, BIIAB is the market-leader in developing and awarding qualifications for the licensed retail sector. In fact, BIIAB has processed over 1.5 million examination entries to date.
BIIAB has over 600 approved centres operating in 6000 locations in the UK, where BIIAB exams can be taken.
As you may also know, BIIAB is:
- the wholly-owned awarding organisation of BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector
- the dedicated awarding organisation for the licensed retail sector
- recognised by Ofqual, which may mean that some qualifications are eligible for public funding recognised for achieving the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard
Organisations seeking approval are required to make a formal application to BIIAB. An advisory visit can be arranged to discuss any aspect of your application prior to submitting your centre application forms; however a charge of £500 (plus VAT) will be incurred for this facility.

The attached tutor requirements are for Nominated Tutors who wish to deliver:
- Scottish Licensing Certificates as stipulated by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA)
- Security Industry Authority Licence to Practice qualifications as stipulated by the Security Industry Authority (SIA)
